If you’re new to the Substack platform or have used it for a while and are still confused — you’re not alone. Setting up this Substack was confusing AF. Either I’m not as tech savvy as I used to be or Substack is not as intuitive as it can be. I’m going with the latter as through my multiple ‘how to’ Google searches, many people have the same gripes and questions I had.

How to receive and access newsletter content
First, you have to subscribe. If you haven’t yet, go ahead and do that first:
Second, there are various ways to receive and access my posts.
1. Your email inbox
Each time a newsletter is sent out (free and paid), you’ll get it in your email inbox. They will be from Julie from Table for Two. If you don’t see them in your inbox, try looking for it in your spam, trash, or promotions tab. To ensure you receive them, make sure you add tablefortwoblog@substack.com to your address book.
2. The Substack website on desktop
This is honestly the best way and my favorite way to access Substack. You can see so much more on desktop than you can via the app. It’s like going to a full website and it’s cleaner. Many account settings are only accessible through the desktop version or through your mobile browser (like Safari or Chrome)!
To access my Substack on desktop, bookmark https://tablefortwoblog.substack.com for quick and easy access!
3. The Substack app
If you’re on the go and like reading articles on your phone while you commute or walk (you can listen to my newsletters like an audiobook!), you may enjoy the Substack mobile app. It’s not my favorite because it’s a little difficult to find things and you can’t access your account settings via the app. However, for reading newsletters and using the table talk. chat room, it’s relatively straightforward.
When you open the app, you’ll be on your homepage. Tap your profile picture in the upper righthand corner and you’ll see all the subscriptions you’re subscribed to. Find table talk. and tap it to get to my main page.
Troubleshooting
I’m not receiving newsletters!
If you’ve already checked your spam and trash, use this article to troubleshoot. It might just be how you set up your account or maybe you’re using the wrong email address you signed up with.
I pay for your paid content but I still can’t access them.
To be honest, this one I may not be able to answer because while I own my Substack account, I don’t own the platform. You may have to reach out to their support team to troubleshoot. Alternatively, check your account settings to make sure your credit card hasn’t expired and/or the subscription to my paid content is still active.
How do I cancel my paid subscription?
Aww, I’m sorry to see you go. To cancel a paid subscription, you’ll have to be logged into your Substack account that you subscribed with. Follow this article with step by step photos on how to cancel a paid subscription.
Please note: selecting ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of my newsletters does not cancel your paid subscription. You need to manually cancel it within your account settings.
I want to make sure I’m subscribed to all the sections of your newsletter.
Head to your account settings and make sure you’re subscribed to all the sections you want to be subscribed to. Some are paid sections.
Under Subscriptions, click table talk.
On the next page, slide the toggle next to each section you want to receive notifications about. You’re subscribed if the toggle is green.
Thank you for pulling up a seat at the table! I hope you find your little cozy corner and community here. Please stay as long as you’d like! 💜
